Our History
Established as an integral part of Cuttington University—one of Africa's oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning—the Leadership Institute was founded to address the critical need for formal leadership development in post-conflict Liberia.
Cuttington University, located in Suakoko, Bong County, has a long history of producing national leaders. The Institute builds upon this legacy, modernizing traditional leadership education with innovative research and a global perspective.
Since its inception, the Institute has launched several key initiatives, including the Women Leadership Program, which focuses on empowering female leaders across various sectors of Liberian society. We continue to grow, guided by our commitment to national excellence and the development of visionary leadership.
